Wellsville, NY - Jenny L. Burdick, 71, of 79 King Street passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Highland Park Healthcare Center following a long illness. She was born February 27, 1945 in Wellsville, the daughter of Paul M. and Louise A. (Tait) Cole Sr. On June 25, 1966 in Wellsville she married Donald R. Burdick who predeceased her on October 26, 2004.
Jenny attended school in Wellsville. She loved to read, make crafts, listen to county music, and go out with friends to dance. She did a lot of baby sitting in her younger years and was a Cub Scout Den Mother in the Bolivar and Richburg area for 10 years. She worked with the junior bowlers in Bolivar for many years. She was employed as a personal care aide for Jan & Bev’s Home Care, Southern Tier Home Health Care and Associated Home Care. She also provided home care for several friends and family members. She was a member of the Wellsville Volunteer Fire Department Axillary for many years.
She is survived by one son, Scott A. Burdick of Byron, NY, 1 brother, Paul J. Cole Jr. of Wellsville, two sisters, Marguerite “Susie” (Maxwell) Halladay Sr. of Wellsville and Linda M. Button of Richburg as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Michael T. Burdick who passed away on February 25, 2008, two brothers, William F. and Ronald E. Cole, one sister, Beverly J. Denning and a sister-in-law, Gertrude Cole.
Friends are invited to call at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The funeral will follow visitation at 3:00 pm with Rev. David Herne presiding. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
