Fair Haven, NY - Beatrice Violet Haxton Heath, 78, of 376 Route 104 A died on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the DeMay Living Center in Newark. She was born on January 5, 1931 in Wellsville, the daughter of Claude and Violet (Hurd) Ellsworth. On June 2, 1962 in Wellsville she married Merle Leroy Haxton who predeceased her on January 12, 1985.
Beatrice was a long time resident of Wellsville and a resident of Fair Haven for the past nine years. She was formerly employed at Galeton Productions and later at Acme Electric in Cuba for 35 years. She was associated with the Lighthouse Community Fellowship Church in South Butler, NY.
She is survived by four children, Clyda Ann Shambaugh of Carlisle, PA, Janice Elaine Shea and John William Haxton both of Wellsville and Linda Leslie Lindner of Fair Haven, eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Hollister, Dawn Weatherley and her fiancé Dan Costo of Alfred Station, Stacey Weatherley of Wellsville, Edward (Jackie) Shea III and their children Gavin and Jarek of Wellsville, Kristopher Shea of Wellsville, Latisha Haxton and her fiancé Jay Cone and their son Caleb of Stuart, FL, Miranda Haxton and her fiancé John Sekoll and her daughters, Lexi, Madison and Makenzie of Andover, John Merle (Chrissy DeJonge) Haxton of Andover, two brothers, Donald Curtiss of Delray Beach, FL and Claude Ellsworth Jr. of Richmond, CA, two sisters, Florence DiGiacomo of Corning and Gladys (John) Speeckaert of Painted Post, four sisters-in-law, Alice Ellsworth of Grant Pass, OR, Ella Mae Haxton of Bolivar, Doris Haxton of Wellsville and Nina Ellsworth of CA. a daughter-in-law, Melody Haxton of Andover and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Claude Ellsworth, her mother, Violet Budinger, her step father, Clyde Budinger, her step mother, Grace Ellsworth, two sons, Frederick Glee Ellsworth and Jack Hollister, two sons-in-law, Sam Shambaugh and Richard George Lindner Jr., a brother, Ernest Ellsworth, a sister, Ellen Mae Nellenback, two brothers-in-law, Peter DiGiacomo and Harold Nellenback and a sister-in-law, Caroline Curtiss
Friends are invited to call on Monday, March 16, 2009 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville. The funeral will follow visitation at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Mason Sorensen presiding. Burial will be in Stannards Cemetery. Memorial suggestions include St. Jude Children's Research or the Morrison Hayes American Legion Post 702 Auxiliary.
