Betty Jane Erwin, 82

Wellsville, NY – Betty Jane Erwin, 82, of North Main Street, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Hart Comfort House. She was born in Genesee, PA on March 19, 1940, the daughter of the late Earl and Marjorie (Robbins) Gleason. On September 3, 1993 she married James Erwin, who predeceased her. 

She was a Wellsville High School graduate. She was a long-time employee of Dresser-Rand, she earned her title of Inventory Specialist and retired after 27 years. She was an avid NASCAR and Buffalo Bills fan, during football season she was known as ‘Buffalo Alice’. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #601 and, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 702, both of Wellsville. 

Betty is survived by: three children, Terri (Robert) Geen of Fairport, Tracy (Richard) Walker of Wellsville, and Andy (Tammy) Baisch of Rochester; six grandchildren, Jimmy (Becca) Fanton, Matt Geen, Liz (Christian) Austin, Chelsea (Drew) Toney, Emmy Geen, and Noah Baisch; five great-grandchildren, Andrew Fanton, Sara Fanton, Lawrence Smith, Aubree Fanton, and Cameron Toney; a sister, Shirley (Stan) Senack; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by: a great-grandson, Micheal Fanton; and two siblings, Gail Allen and Kenny Gleason.

  4. Betty was a beautiful, kind, loving soul who gave generously, loved deeply and forgave unceasingly. The world lost a great lady who gave us all a roadmap for life and eternity. God Bless her, her family that I am so privileged to be a part of and all of those who cared for her so lovingly at Hart Comfort Home.

  8. I work 3 nights a week at Hart House and never got to meet you. Your Mother was a lovely lady. She was very blessed to have three wonderful children. My blessings to you.
