Carol was a 1973 graduate of Andover Central School. Upon graduating, she began a career in medical office management, starting with the Rural Management Associates in Andover. She then became a stay at home mother to raise her family. She later returned to work in several local medical offices including Dr. Edmonston’s practice until 2018. Carol was an ordained minister of the Wesleyan Church in 2005 and served as Assistant Pastor to the Brookside Wesleyan Church of Wellsville. Carol started and ran the CafĂ© Jacob in Bolivar and retired due health Issues in March 2018.
Surviving besides her husband are 5 daughters, Jennifer (Jeremy Monz) Schiffer of Shohola, PA., Melissa (Raymond) Miller of St. Augustine, FL., Christie (Eric) Barton of Amherst, Elizabeth (Nicholas) Mesler of Cheektowaga and Sarah (Adam) Turner of Norfolk, VA.; a son Jon (Grace Franco) Schweigart of Los Angles, CA.; 2 sisters Sandra Merrick and Lisa (Paul) Rowe both of Wellsville and a brother William (Deb Hunt) Merrick of Wellsville; 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by both her mother and father.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 2-4 and 7-9 at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville, 34 West State Street. Her funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11 in the Funeral Home with Reverend Chris Mattison presiding. Memorial suggestions in Carol’s memory include either the Brookside Wesleyan Church or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. I have known Carol since before she had her first child. She was a sweet, caring, loving, endearing woman who gave her all to those she loved. She will be greatly missed.

ReplyDeleteOur deepest sympathy to all of Carol’s family and friends. The three years our Mom was in Highland she always looked forward to the Wednesday night church services Carol did. Carol was a very thoughtful, caring lady who is now in God’s care. RIP Carol!
