Wellsville, NY - Doris C. Mallory, age 92, of Florida Avenue passed away on Monday, February 13, 2107, at the Wellsville Manor Care Center. She was born on April 3, 1924 in Allentown to Lloyd and Margaret Link Swarthout. On November 3rd, 1946 in the First Trinity Lutheran Church she married Floyd Mallory who predeceased her on June 22, 2016.
Doris was the Valedictorian of Allentown High School class of 1941. She had been employed as a draftsman at Air Preheater and later earned her LPN and worked at Jones Memorial Hospital. Doris enjoyed bowling, cooking, walking, as well as crafts that include sewing, and knitting. She was a member of TOPS and the Trinity Lutheran Church where she enjoyed Bible Breakfast, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include 2 sons, Glenn (Debra) Mallory of Grand Junction, CO. and Roger (Patricia George) Mallory of Wellsville; 2 daughters, Margaret “Peggy” Stallworth of Mumford and Mary Alice (Kelly) Monroe of Wellsville; 4 grandchildren, Joshua Stallworth, Terrence Monroe, Matthew Monroe, and Christine (John) Ressler. A brother, James Swarthout of Old Orchard, Maine. Doris was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her sister, June Gensamer.
Friends are invited to a memorial service on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., 34 W. State Street in Wellsville, NY. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
