  1. This man was so much more than expressed here. But he was all that as well. I will always remember him as my daughter's new bridegroom and what an easy and fun guy to tease because of his innocence. I will forever see his face in Sarah's and her expressions are so like his. Job who was surely tested in every way responded, "The Lord has given; the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." We don't know what is in God's plan but here's where we have to let Him know we trust Him and will bear this cross for Him as He did for us. I loved you Vo and will love my memories of you.

  4. Vo,
You were a beautiful and generous soul. I'm grateful for being blessed to have had you in my life. Rest peacefully my friend.

    Rebecca,
You and Vo had greatness with each other, a rare and treasured love. Vo will always be with you in your heart and therfore always near.

For the mothers, children, brothers and sister: I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you will find comfort in the knowledge of Vo's love and the treasured moments you have shared that will live on inside you.

    Friends,
A great void will be felt within our circle, but we will remember the sense of humor, grace, and joy Vo brought to our lives.

  5. Vo Wasn't just the father of my children, he was a wonderful friend. I will always remember him for his forgiving heart, kind ways, and selflessness. He was a man of great patience and had a heart of gold. I am so fortunate to have been blessed enough to have him in my life, and to have Rebecca as well. Vo was loved by all that knew him, not one soul I know ever had anything bad to say. He was taken from all of us at what feels like, too soon. Our children mourne now and their pain very prominent but they will be eased by the wonderful memories they share of their father.
By having Vo in my life he has shown me to be more patient, more forgiving, more kind , and more importantly, life is precious and far too short so cherish it. God blessed us all by giving us a chance to know Vo.
    Love always, Lynda

  6. To the Decker Family,
I feel for your loss as I recently loss a sister to illness in February of 2012. Please find comfort in your heats to know that although Vo is no longer with you on this earth he is in a place where pain and suffering is no more. God has welcome Vo to his home in the heavens. Your parting is only a temporary one, as this is a path we all have to go through some day.
I only knew Vo from a professional level and from the readings of Vo on this page I wish I could have known him as a friend as well. When ever we spoke on the phone he was always very pleasant and soft spoken.
My heartfelt prayers go to the Decker Family in this most difficult time.

  8. My deepest sympathies in this time of great sorrow. I knew Vann from ICS where we went to elementary school together. I remember spending time together at his Dad’s subshop/bakery. Even though we have not had contact in many years, know that I will always think of him as one of my first and best friends.

  12. I knew Vann, as we called him back then, as a classmate in ICS and later WHS.
I remember him as described by many above... as a pleasant, gentle, affable guy. He had a keen, but never mean, sense of humor.
I think because of his easy demeanor, many didn't know that he was as strong as a bull. Many fond memories, I pray, will bring some of Vo Vann's strength to his beloved family in this difficult time.
To his family... I pray God will bring you comfort and strength.
To Vann... Rest in peace, old friend.

  20. It's almost been five years now. The pain never goes away. I miss you everyday that I don't get to see you. My birthday is coming up. I'll be 19, I hope you can see the things I've done and what I have accomplished. And I hope you're proud of me dad. Words cannot express how much I miss you. I enjoy seeing pictures of you that I haven't seen before. I love you with all of my heart dad. I wish I could get one last hug from you but I know I will get that when it's my time to go. Until then I hope you are proud of me. I love you with all of my heart.
    Love,

  22. Well, im 24 now dad. It's been 10 years now. I'm in nursing school now, I hope you're proud! I also adopted another dog... now I have 2! The most recent dog I adopted (named Buddy) happens to be born on March, 7, 2020. Same birthday as you! I didn't even realize it until I got home and looked at the adoption papers. I believe he was sent to me from you. As I'm now I'm nursing school, the pain of your passing has deepened for me. I think about you everyday. I have 2 tattoos in your memory and am getting a third one this weekend. I hope I have turned into a young woman that you wanted me to be. Everything I do, I do with you on my mind. I found some old home videos of you. It was so great to see and hear your voice again.
I miss you more than words could ever express. I love you with all of my heart dad.
    Love,
    Sarah Decker
