Bud was the first president of the Student Council at Belmont Central School, graduating in 1949. Upon graduating he moved to Cleveland, OH to work. He joined the National Guard in his Junior Year of high school, and was drafted into the Army in 1951, where he spent one year in Germany. After his honorable discharge in 1953, he returned home where he worked several part-time jobs; some of which were at the Bordon Plant, Friendship Dairies, and a roofing company. He then worked as a salesman for a photography company and was transferred to Owego, NY to become the district manager. He returned to Belmont after the sudden death of his sister-in-law to help with her children. He started work at Acme Electric from 1955 to 1960. He then found his career at Dresser-Rand, for whom he worked from 1960 until his retirement in 1992, rising to the Manufacturing Engineering Department for his last ten years. Bud also worked as a realtor and broker for 30 plus years, retiring in 2010.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church where he served as a trustee and Eucharistic minister and lector. He also served on the Parish Council. He was the Catholic Charities Chairman for the Buffalo Diocese for 20 years. He also served on the Cemetery Board with maintenance and records for many years. His community service included the Belmont Fire Department, Amity Rescue Squad, and he was a past Rotarian. Bud and Frank Pasquale Sr. started the Little League Program and helped build the Little League Field at Wilmac Park. He loved bowling at the Community Lanes for many years, he also enjoyed golf but was never able to beat his son-in-law Dana. He liked to play horseshoes and was a true champion. Bud also enjoyed his many dear friends, including the special bond with his poker pals over many years.
Bud will be remembered for his kindness, empathy, strong faith, his generosity, and integrity he has shown all his life. His family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Picco, the Veterans Administration, and the U of R Medical Center in Wellsville for their wonderful care.
He is survived by: four children, Charles “Bud” (Marci) Tronetti, Sherry Teach, Sue (Dana) Ross, all of Belmont, and John (Liz) Tronetti of Columbia, SC; 10 grandsons, Matthew Tronetti, Chad (Lisa) Tronetti, Lance (Kyla) Tronetti, Luke Tronetti, Michael (Melissa) Metsch, Joseph (Heidi) Metsch, Anthony (Johanna) Ross, Kristopher Ross, Nicholas Tronetti, and Patrick Tronetti; 16 great-grandchildren; special friend Carole Aldrich; and several beloved nieces, nephews, and treasured cousins. In addition to his parents and wife of 59 years, he was predeceased by: a brother, Joseph Tronetti; a sister, Barbara Munro; and son-in-law, Daniel Teach.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 5 – 8 pm at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home of Belmont, 17 Schuyler Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 11 am in Holy Family Catholic Church, 5 Milton Street, Belmont, NY. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery of Belmont. ReplyDeleteBud was a good honest family man with integrity as kids he always seemed to know what we were up. Always welcomed into his and Gloria’s home. Great people, people our community can be proud of. As all of us , this earth is just a place we pass through to meet our Heavenly Father. Was a pleasure to have met them on their journey in this life.

ReplyDeleteJerry and I met Bud when we first came to the area 35+ years ago when we attended St. Mary’s RC Church in Belmont. Always welcoming and warm, Bud personified a Christian gentleman. His passing is a loss not just to his family, but to the Belmont and Allegany County area. We were very fond of him. Our sympathy to his family and especially to our friends, Sue and Dana Ross and Carole Aldrich.
