Rita was a 1953 graduate of Bishop Colton High School in Buffalo. She entered the work force, and was employed by Aetna Insurance as a secretary for a few years. In 1965 she and Cliff moved their family to Allentown, where they’ve lived ever since. They have created a warm, welcoming home for their children, grandchildren, and many visiting relatives and friends. Rita was a tireless advocate for children and education. After her children had grown, Rita worked at the First Trust Bank in Wellsville, and co-ran a family catering business with Cliff for many years. She loved traveling, parties, dancing with her husband, golfing, walking, and dinners with friends at the Beef Haus. She was an excellent cook, whether it was for two or 200, and gladly made a spot at her table for anyone who stopped by. When she wasn’t busy serving her community, Rita loved spending time with her friends, family, and especially her grandchildren. ReplyDeleteI’ll remember Aunt Rita as a kind and gentle woman with a great sense of humor. She was always caring and welcoming, and I have so many wonderful memories of visiting her and Uncle Cliff. Most importantly, I’ll remember the special bond she and my mom shared. Keeping everyone who loved Aunt Rita in my prayers.
