Ashley Lynn Gelser

Belmont, NY - Ashley Lynn Gelser, age 32, of the Hills Road passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 1, 2018 at home. She was born to the proud parents Kenneth L. and Tammy L. Middaugh Gelser in Wellsville on December 1, 1985.

Ashley graduated from Genesee Valley School in 2004 and attended Alfred University where she played softball. She worked various jobs in the area and most recently for Alfred University at the equestrian center where she found comfort with all her homies. She was in her element and most at peace when she was enjoying her love of hunting, fishing, farming, hiking,4 wheeling, softball, watching musicals ,or singing. Ashley had a huge heart and an infectious smile and laugh. She also had a knack for forming special connections with her cousins and all the little people in her family. They all loved her, admired her, and looked up to her. It took courage to grow and become who she really was even when it was not easy or popular. Ashley did things her way!

She is survived by her parents Kenneth (Marsha Storms)  of Belmont and Tammy (Dick Young)  of Scio; 2 sisters, Heather (Alex Deboard)  of New Mexico and Courtney of Oregon; her grandmothers, Barb Taylor of Wellsville and Marleah Ritter of Wellsville; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.

She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Orlo S. Gelser, George Ritter, and Maurice W. Middaugh; her aunt, Cindy Jeffereds; her uncle Ronald Gelser; and her fur baby, Duke.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, from 1 until 4 pm at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Belmont. A service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 4 pm in the funeral home with Reverend John Francisco presiding. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family for expenses or to the Allegany County SPCA. To leave online condolences please visit www.embserfuneralhome.com
