Wellsville, NY - Marilyn F. Perkins, 87, of 215 Madison Street passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Jones Memorial Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was born August 30, 1927, in Wellsville, NY, the daughter of the late Florence (Barlow) Weber and William Weber. On August 10, 1946 in Allentown, she married the love of her life, Lyle “Tunney” Perkins, who predeceased her on March 14, 2006.
Marilyn was raised in Wellsville. She was a devoted and loving wife and stay-at-home mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a special friend to many people throughout her life. For several years she volunteered her time at the voting booths and the cafeteria at ICS. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, quilting and took great pride in her gardening and flowers that were always in bloom and on display at her house.
She is survived by her five children, Dan (Carolina) Perkins of Fort Mills, SC, Butch (Hope) Perkins of Wellsville, Cathy (Lionell) Humphrey of Mesa, AZ, Mike (Kim) Perkins of Wellsville, and Jon (Judy Mistric) Perkins of Bolivar and one special cousin Bonnie Phillips Manion of Florida. She was a devoted grandmother of 13 and a loving great-grandmother to 15 great-grandkids with another one on the way in June. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Donald Weber of Wellsville and Robert (Sylvia) Weber of Florida and one half-brother Jerry (Jackie) Weber of Wellsville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one brother, William Weber and three great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Wellsville. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 pm in the funeral home, with Rev. Randy Headley presiding. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial suggestions include Allegany County Association for the Blind and Visually Handicapped, Wellsville Montessori School or Immaculate Conception School.
