Pauline J. Morrison


Wellsville, NY - Pauline J. Morrison of Merriam Heights passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012, at the Hart Comfort House in Wellsville. She was born on February 26, 1936 in Edinburgh Scotland to John Frederick and Mary Phillipa (Kelly) Johnston. On December 6, 1958 in Wellsville she married Andrew Morrison who predeceased her on October 11, 2006.

Pauline was born in Edinburgh Scotland where studied dance and was a local ping pong champion. In 1958 she immigrated to Canada where she met her husband Andrew Morrison while he served with the U S Navy. Pauline was a long time bank employee in Wellsville starting with the former Citizens National Bank then with Key Bank and retired from Community Bank in 2003.She held many positions starting as the switchboard operator and retiring as the secretary in the loan department. During her tenure at the bank her upbeat and Scottish brogue made her a familiar friendly voice in town. After retirement she was an active volunteer at the Wellsville Manor Nursing Home and at Jones Memorial Hospital. Pauline's spirit of giving and undying optimism was an inspiration to those that knew her.

Survivors include: a son, Andrew (Wilma) Morrison Jr. of Mansfield, MA.; a daughter, Doreen (John) Richardson of Mt. Juliet, TN.; 2 sisters, Dorothy Johnston-Kay of Toronto, Canada and Phillipa Johnston of Paris France; 3 grandchildren, Rachael, Wendy and Zachary; 17 nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Franklin Johnston.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville. Her funeral service with be held on Thursday at 11 am in the funeral home with Deacon Frank Pasquale presiding.
