Wellsville, NY - Sarah V. Waters of 155 North Brooklyn Ave. passed away on Friday, June 25, 2010, after a short illness. She was born on May 7, 1942 in Genesee, Pa. the daughter of William and Vada Graves Harrison.
Sarah graduated from Whitesville Central High School who had been a resident of the Whitesville and Andover area. She and her family had been involved in dairy farming in Whitesville and Spencerport. Sarah had worked as a home health aide in the Wellsville Area and was currently was employed by AIM. She liked to square dance and enjoyed listening and dancing on Monday Nights at the VFW to the Monday Night Players. Sarah was well known, enjoyed reading and loved animals. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be remembered for her passion for helping others.
Survivors include: 4 sons, Timothy Waters of Orchard Park, Arnold (Liz) Waters of Greenwood, Kenneth (Alisa) Waters of Henrietta and Lewis Waters of Westport, IN.; 3 daughters, Tammy (Brian) Matteson of Wellsville, Sarah (Brian) Slattery of Brockport and Alma (Ronald) Hobson of Westport, IN.; 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; 2 sisters, Wilma Waters of Woodhull and Jean Fanton of Wellsville; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Ellen Waters as well as 3 brothers, Charles, Earl and Harold Harrison.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, June29, 2010, at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville from 1 to 2 pm at which time a memorial service will take place. Rev. Marc Chamberlain will preside and memorials may be made to either the Willing Fire Department, Wellsville Fire Department or to the SPCA.
