Wellsville, NY - Terry L. Lehman, 67, of 4005 Niles Hill Road died on Friday, February 27, 2009 at Jones Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 17, 1941 in Wellsville the son of the late William and Lena (Strong) Lehman. On June 16, 1962 in Wellsville he married Arlene Childress who survives.
Terry was first employed as the Charlie Chips driver and later by the Alfred State College, Vocational School in Wellsville, for 34 years. He retired from Alfred on June 29, 1998. He then worked for his son Shawn’s business; Lehman’s Lawn care and Landscaping. He was a life member of the Dyke Street Engine Company # 2 and was a member of the Elks Lodge # 1495 in Wellsville. He enjoyed hunting at the Pondarosa and riding through the hills of Allegany County.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children; Cherise Lehman of Wellsville, Rhonda (David) Lorshbaugh of St. Croix, Virgin Islands, Lu Ann (Tim) Dixon and Shawn Lehman both of Wellsville, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, four brothers, William (Dorisann) Lehman and Edward Lehman both of Belmont, Robert J. (Winifred) Lehman and Donald Lehman both of Wellsville and several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy Keifer.
Friends are invited to call on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville. The funeral will be Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Ralph Eastlack presiding. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial suggestions include the ALS Association or the Dyke Street Engine Company # 2.
