Eldon C. Stephens


Alma, NY - Eldon C. Stephens, 68, of 178 Pump Station Road passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at home surrounded by his family. He was born December 9, 1943 in Wellsville, the son of the late Ronald A. and Bertha May (Brown) Stephens. On June 27, 1964 in the Allentown Methodist Church he married Lois E. Hurd who survives.

Eldon was a 1962 graduate of Scio High School and was a former resident of Allentown, Fulton, NY and Grand Junction, Michigan. He was employed as a machinist for over 40 years, primarily at Black Clawson Company in Fulton. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed mentoring his young friends and family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, James (Jessica) Stephens of Cortland, Christopher (Tina) Stephens of Fulton and Darcy (Michele) Stephens of Hannibal, NY, seven grandchildren, Ryan, Rachele, Alexis, Hunter and Aidan Stephens and Samantha and Sophia Lott, three sisters, Joyce (Dick) Shields of Bolivar, Norma (Phillip) Taylor of Allentown and Judy Stephens of Penfield, a brother-in-law, William Pacetti and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Stephens both of Orlando, FL and many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Linda Pacetti and a brother, Walter R. Stephens.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor David Dickerson presiding. Burial will be in Knights Creek Cemetery in Scio.
