Mark R. Norton, 59

Belmont, NY – Mark R. Norton, 59, of 9 South Street passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester following a brief illness. He was born August 17, 1963, in Rome, NY, the son of Richard C. and Nancy J. (Culbert) Norton.

Mark was a 1982 graduate of Scio High School. He was first employed by the JoPo and Maybee Farms in Scio. He later was a Bus driver for the Genesee Valley Central School and the Alfred-Almond Central School. He loved taking children to and from school and making them laugh. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing Golf, trying new restaurants, new recipes, and spending time with his beloved nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his mother, Nancy Norton of Whitesville, two sisters, Karen (Louie) Norton of Whitesville, and Kathleen (Luke) Norton of Wilmington, NC, a brother, Timothy Norton of Belmont, and several nieces and nephews including, Camille, Dustin, Colin, Jennifer, Ian, and Chloe, three great nieces and nephews, Adriana, Noah, and Khali, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Richard, maternal grandparents, Joseph and Clara Culbert, and paternal grandparents, Robert and Leah Feller, as well as several aunts and uncles.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., 34 W. State Street in Wellsville.   2. To Mark's family, I send my condolences to all for the recent passing of my friend and co-worker at Genesee Vally C. S. I was a bus driver with Mark for a while and he was always so helpful to me to see we did a good job and did it safely. Always smiling and up to something every day. A good guy to all.
