Terry W. Sweeney

Wellsville, NY - Terry W. Sweeney, 65, of 191 Williams Avenue, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. He was born August 12, 1952 in Wellsville, the son of the late Edward and Jean (Lavin) Sweeney. On September 4, 1976 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville, he married Patricia Graham, who survives.

Terry was a 1970 graduate of Wellsville High School and attended Alfred State College – School of Applied Technology in Wellsville. He was employed at Dresser-Rand Corporation in Wellsville for many years, retiring in 2015. At the time of his death, he was employed by Fisher's Pharmacy in Wellsville. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 702 in Wellsville, the Wellsville Moose Lodge 601, and the Wellsville Country Club. He loved to golf, and was proud of his “hole in one,” he also enjoyed bowling and spending time at the lake. He really enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and treasured his time with his daughter Laura.  

Surviving in addition to his wife, is one daughter, Laura (Zach Hebda) Sweeney of West Chester, Ohio, a sister, Deborah (David) Raymer of Galeton, PA, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in addition to his parents, by one niece, one nephew, and his mother and father-in-law, James and Mary Elizabeth Graham.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 26 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., 34 W. State Street in Wellsville. The funeral will be on Friday, April 27 at 11:00 am in the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville. Please consider memorial donations to the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps.     Im so so sorry you lost Scrape as we all called him. He was a great guy and will be missed by anybody that knew. If there's anything you ever need please let me know.. I will be thinking of you both.
