Raymond E. Dennis

Greece/ Rochester, NY - Raymond E. Dennis, age 73, a former resident of Wellsville passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at the Aurora House in Spencerport surrounded by his family. He was born on October 2, 1942 in Olean to Robert H. and Helen Moser Dennis. On August 25, 1960 in Gaffney, North Carolina he married Kay Lippman who survives.

Ray was employed as a welder for Eastman Kodak in Rochester of 30 years. He was an instructor for the welding apprentice program and a proud member of the American Welding Society where he held an inspectors license. Ray enjoyed the out of doors, he was an Eagle Scout who enjoyed boating on the Great Lakes and the Finger Lakes. He enjoyed hunting, golfing with friends and especially watching his grandchildren play sports. Ray had been a member of the Masonic Lodge on Lake Avenue in Rochester.

Ray is survived by his wife Kay; a son Kevin E. (Dianna) Dennis of Rochester; a daughter Kelly (Ken) Kozlowski of Rochester; his brother, Walter (Phyllis) Dennis of Brockport; grandchildren, Robert (Tara) Visca, Jill Visca, Trevor and Celia Dennis; several cousins and nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held with a burial in Woodlawn Cemetery of Wellsville. Memorials in Ray’s name may be made to the Aurora House at 2495 South Union Street, Spencerport, NY. 14559. To leave online condolences please visit www.embserfuneralhome.com.

  3. Kay, very sorry to see Ray pass. I dont know if you remember me or not but I worked in B23 in the vault and used to see you there. Ray was my Welding teacher and I always considered him a friend. My prayers are with you and your family . John Nealon

  7. Dear Kay and Family, So sorry to hear to hear of Ray's passing. Ray was my welding instructor during my apprenticeship at Kodak, Class of 95. I look back at those days with great fondness and credit Ray and Pete Weaver for teaching me the skills that make me the Skilled tradesman I am today. Ray made a difference and I thank him for that. My Thoughts and prayers are with you and Ray. Yes Ray I know I'm still just a truck driver.
