Paula M. (Frungillo) Budinger

Scio, NY - Paula M. (Frungillo) Budinger, 35, of 4331 E. Sciota Street passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at her parent’s home on Amity Lake; following a courageous 13 month battle with a rare form of Brain cancer. She was born on August 6, 1974 in Cuba the daughter of Donald P. and Donna (Greene) Frungillo Jr. On July 3, 1999 in Friendship she married Ron Budinger who survives.

Paula was a 1992 graduate of Belmont Central School and received a BA degree in Elementary Education from Keuka College in 1996. She was very proud to be the first member of her family to receive a Masters degree; which she received from St. Bonaventure University in Special Education. She was first employed at the Stepping Stones Learning Center in Rochester and later taught at Head Start in Cuba, BOCES Preschool at Wellsville Elementary School and was currently a Consultant Special Education Teacher at the Belmont BOCES Center. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Portville and loved shopping and finding bargains. She enjoyed deer hunting with her dad, camping with her family and loved teaching and spending those special little everyday moments with her girls. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was very witty. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. Throughout her illness she had a positive attitude, never complained and always thought of others first; her grin and raised eyebrow said a lot.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are two beautiful daughters, Kirsten and Brooke, both at home, two sisters, Ann (Steven) Nardozza of N. Syracuse and Wendy (Rich) Wenslow of Wellsville, her paternal grandparents, Donald P. and Dorothy Frungillo Sr. of Belmont, a nephew, Jake Nardozza, a niece, Amanda Nardozza and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends are invited to call today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. 17 Schuyler Street in Belmont and on Saturday from 12 noon to 1:00 pm at the United Church of Friendship, 33 E. Main Street in Friendship. The funeral will follow visitation at 1:00 pm Saturday in Church with Rev. Paula Roulette presiding. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Friendship. Memorial contributions are suggested and can be made to the to the Kirsten & Brooke Budinger College Fund % Community Bank, 4196 Bolivar Road, Wellsville, NY 14895.

  1. To the Budinger and Frungillo Family, I just heard the very sad news today. I am deeply sorry for your loss and can only hope you all can move on in life cherishing all of the memories you still have in your minds and hearts of Paula.
