Rita A. Sick, 95, Death notice

Wellsville, NY – Rita A. Sick, 95, of Manor Hills, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022 at the Hart Comfort House in Wellsville. Friends are invited to call on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, 34 W. State Street in Wellsville. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, January 7, at 11:00 am in the First Trinity Lutheran Church, 470 N. Main Street in Wellsville.     Dave, Marsha and family. I'm so sorry for your great loss. I had the privilege of meeting Rita a few times at the shop and what an amazing lady she was. I was so impressed by her energy and her spirit. You all have my deepest, heartfelt sympathy.

    Mrs Sick was my favorite elementary school teacher! I remember learning about ancient civilizations in her social studies class in grade 6. She not only taught the content but fostered our curiosity. She made a difference in my life and I became a teacher myself for over 38 years!

    Mrs Sick was my favorite elementary school teacher. She instilled a curiosity to learn about history. So thankful to have had her at WCS.

    Our deepest sympathy to all of Rita’s family and friends. She was a wonderful lady and a great teacher. I vividly remember one day during a heavy snowstorm, she flipped off the lights and allowed the class to watch the mesmerizing snow flakes. She understood kids!

    Miss Adams became Mrs. Sick about the time I was in her 3rd grade class. I wanted to be a teacher like her. I enjoyed visiting with her at church when I came back to visit my parents. God's peace to the family.

    Mrs Sick was one of my favorite teachers.. I had the privilege of having her for 2 years, (2 different grades) in elementary school.. My thoughts and prayers are with y'all.. RIP Mir's Sick

    Martin Street School - 3rd Grade - 1970.
    Mrs Sick brought in a woman who played different instruments for us to see/hear. I was instantly drawn to the violin.
    Because of her, my journey led me to become Concertmaster for my college orchestra. I played for the Elmira Symphony, the Williamsport Symphony, the Rochester Symphony under the batons of some of our greatest conductors.
    She’s the one who planted the love of music within me….a gift I can only pass on, but never repay.
