Olive “Oddie” Elaine Klang-O’Hara, age 78

Tega Cay SC/Wellsville, NY - Mrs. Olive “Oddie” Elaine Klang-O’Hara, age 78, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021, at Piedmont Medical Center. She was surrounded by her daughters at the time of her passing.  Olive was born on April 22, 1943 in Andover, NY the daughter of the late Grant and Louise (Caffery) Fuller. 

She graduated from Andover High School in 1962. On December 1, 1962, she married the late William “Artie” Klang at the Presyberian Church in Andover, NY. Together, they raised 3 daughters in Wellsville, NY. Oddie lived in Wellsville for the majority of her life. She was a homemaker and worked in retail sales and was most known for her many years at Hamilton’s Shoe Store.

Olive loved the Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Christian Temple for many years and attended Barefoot Church in Myrtle Beach. Olive’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her 3 daughters and sons-in-laws, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Daughter Lisa (Chris) Schwier and their children Christopher, Kelsey, and Cameron and grandchildren, Lanie Schwier, Chander Schwier, and Olive Tyler. Daughter Tina (Brian) Harris and their children, Jason (Jessica) Harris, Justin Harris, Jenna Harris and grandchildren Chelsea and Carson Harris. Daughter Barb (Mike) Strait and their children Tenley and MJ Strait. She had one surviving sister, Bonnie Johnson and children Kerrie and Jason, her best friend, Bonnie Baldwin; her nieces and nephews, Stacey, Rick, Jeff, Shelly, Mike, and Dee Dee Smith, Joyce Fuller, as well as two step daughters Jennifer and Sarah O’Hara and many cherished lifelong friends.

She married the late John “Jack” O’Hara in 2004 and they later moved to Calabash, NC where they spent many years. Olive then lived with her daughter and son-in-law Barb and Mike Strait and their family for the past year and a half in Tega Cay, SC.

Olive was one of the most compassionate and kind human-beings on earth. She always smiled at everyone, and had the patience of a saint. She loved to dance, especially line-dancing, but her family was the most important thing in the world to her.

A celebration of life is planned for Memorial Day weekend in Wellsville, NY with a location to be determined soon.
