Wellsville, NY - Gary Michael Hunt, 65, of 75 Johnson Street passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Jones Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born May 3, 1950 in Wellsville the son of Ramond and Sylvia (Hurd) Hunt.
Gary drove a cab for ABC Cab Company in Wellsville for many years. He was an artist and has displayed his paintings at various locations in the Wellsville area. He was a former member of the Allegany Arts Association and was a loving caregiver to several friends and family over the years.
He is survived by his mother of Wellsville, his step-mother, Linda Hunt (David) Boundy of Wellsville, two sisters, Kimberly (Dennis) Herr of Wellsville and Kathy Wittie of Andover, a step-sister, Darcy (Carson) Shutt of Galton, PA, four nieces & nephews, Brandon and Kristine Herr, Kyle (Stephanie) Wittie, and Kolton Wittie, a great niece, Kinsley Wittie, two step nephews, Ethan and Max Lanphere, and the children of Eva Willets; Brian, Laura, Cindy and Alice and their families. He was predeceased by his father, Ramond, a step-brother, Lars Lanphere, a brother-in-law, Karl “Knub” Wittie and his long time loving companion, Eva Willets.
Friends are invited to call on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville. The funeral will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Ralph Eastlack presiding. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
