  1. Gene was a wonderful person. I grew up knowing him and his family as they were our neighbors on Hanover St. for many years. He and Johnny Fagan would work tirelessly on cars in Gene's garage. I would sneak over at night and sit in a yellow Studebaker convertible that my father eventually bought. I have great memories of all his kids too. I offer them my heartfelt condolences. I feel sad to see the good time pass.

  2. Gene was a great neighbor when we were growing up on Hanover Street. It seemed he always had a car in the garage to work on and I remember the block parties they had in the garage. He and my Dad bowled together on Monday night and usually split a six pack afterwards if they could afford it. Probably sometimes even if they couldn’t afford it. He and your family showed up at our dock on Rushford lake one week-end afternoon in the amphicar with the top down and the waves lapping just about an inch below the top of the doors. I truly believed at the time that Gene was crazy. Turns out he was shrewd. Those cars are quite valuable now. Please accept my condolences on your loss.
