Matthew E. Dickerson

Tonawanda, NY - Matthew E. Dickerson, age 34, a former resident of Belfast passed away at his home in Tonawanda. He was born in Cuba on August 20, 1980 to Charles and Karen Jakley Dickerson.

Matthew had graduated from Fillmore Central High School and also from Houghton College. 

He was a member of the US Army National Guard and currently he was working for Home Depot in Tonawanda. Matthew was a member of the Belfast United Methodist Church and was an avid runner who ran in numerous marathons. He enjoyed horseback riding and liked all animals. Matthew will be remembered as someone with a good heart.

Survivors include His Mom and Dad of Belfast; maternal grandmother Barbara Jakley of Pike; a brother Andrew Dickerson of Buffalo; several aunts' uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Earl and Gladys Dickerson and his maternal grandfather Robert Jakley.

Friends are invited to call at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville on Tuesday, November 25, from 10 am to 12 noon at which time a funeral service will be held. Pastor Nancy Russell of the Belfast UMC will preside and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville. Memorials in Matthews name may be made to the S.PCA.
