Harriett Hubert Bradley

Wellsville, NY - Harriett Hubert Bradley died peacefully at home on Thursday, November 6.    

Harriett was born March 24, 1925 in Hornell the third of four daughters of John and Harriett (Felix) Hubert. She graduated from Hornell High School and in April of 1943 married her husband Richard. Following his military service during World War II they would make their home in Wellsville for 67 years until his death in 1996.  

For many summers Harriett played golf with friends and family. She was a longtime member of the Wellsville Country Club but would achieve that coveted prize, a hole-in-one, in East Aurora. She was an avid reader and had enjoyed knitting since she was a teenager.  Many newborns have left Jones Memorial Hospital wearing one of Harriett's knit caps.  She frequently participated in the hospital's annual Country Fair as a member of the Hemlock Twig.  As a 30 year member of the Monday Club, she regularly joined with members for their weekly meetings.  Harriett was a member of the United Church of Christ in Wellsville since shortly after she and her husband moved to Wellsville.  

Harriett is survived by her four children, Richard of Kissimmee, Florida, Tom of Cuba, Jeff and his wife Jane of Cuba, and Carol also of Cuba.  Harriett's grandchildren include Sarah of Cuba, Rebecca of St. Petersburg, Florida, Justin and his wife Brittany of Allegany, and their son Evan who has not yet celebrated his first birthday.  Also surviving Harriett are her sisters, Betty of Hornell, Rose of Bath as well as several nieces and nephews.  

Besides her husband, Harriett was predeceased by her sister Lucille, her brother in law, Jack Ordway, husband of Rose and dear friends, Phyllis Burrows of Wellsville and Beverly Peck of Lahaina, Hawaii.  

Harriett's family would like to express its gratitude to the very special Mary, Tina, Maria, Cindy, Lori and Nancy for the kindness and attention given their mother during her last days.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, November 11 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville. The family will also host a celebration of the life of their mother at the Wellsville County Club on Saturday, November 15 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the David A.   2. We lived next to Mrs. Bradley for half dozen years and she was always so kind to us, my children, and my parents who visited from out of town. She allowed my kids to learn to ride bikes between our lawns! Her smile and friendliness will be missed. Our thought and prayers are with your family.
