Frances G. Hurd

Pleasanton, TX - Frances G. Hurd, 92, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer at her home in Texas, surrounded by her family. She was born in September 14, 1921 in Angelica the daughter of the late Harry and Viola (Graham) Feldbauer. On April 13, 1940 in Angelica she married Lester M. Hurd who predeceased her on April 30, 1992.

Frances was a long time resident of Angelica before moving to Pleasanton, Texas 14 years ago. She was a 4-H leader for many years and a member Allegany County Home Bureau. She was formerly employed at Dresser-Rand Corporation in Wellsville; retiring in 1984. 

She is survived by three daughters, Carol Mead of Pleasanton, TX, Diane Dearing of Matthews, NC, and Kay (Larry) Williams of Odenton, MD, four grandchildren, Amy Dearing, Scott (Bridget) Dearing, Christine Garces, and Leslie (Wil) McPherson, eight great grandchildren, three brothers, Robert (Doris) Feldbauer, of Angelica, Harry (Skip) Feldbauer of Salamanca, and James Feldbauer of Belmont as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in addition to her husband of 52 years, by a brother, Jerome Feldbauer.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Friday from 9:00 to 9:30 am at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., 17 Schuyler Street in Belmont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am in Holy Family Church in Belmont with Rev. Thomas Roman as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Belmont. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Angelica Library, the Angelica Conservation Club or Home Care and Hospice.   1. I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Frances passing. It has been many many years but I remember as a little girl going to see her and Uncle Lester. My thoughts and prayers to her family.

You will be in our hearts, and with us forever!! my favorite times.. coming to the farm; skipping rocks in the creek, home made ice cream (which we never get in NC), sunday pancackes, you being with me for my engagement christmas eve, and most favorite of all... the cow corn!! Looking forward to coming home for a couple of days, I love you !! Amy
