Carolynn Roberta Lycette

Andover, NY - Carolynn Roberta Lycette, 76, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Highland Park Healthcare Center in Wellsville, following a long illness. She was born on February 23, 1943 in Bliss, NY the daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Winnifred Marie (Geffers) Jenison. 

Carolynn was a 1962 graduate of  Belmont High School, and a graduate of Alfred State College, with a degree in Culinary Arts. She was employed in the restaurant industry for 30 years. She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, and making crafts.

She is survived by two daughters, Renee (Robert) Stevens of Fairmont, WV, and Roberta Lynn (Kenny) Hazzard of Little Plymouth,VA, two sons, Kenneth G. (Cheryle) Woodruff Jr. of Friendship, and Leland C. Lycette of Richmond, VA, eight grandchildren, Ashley (Brian) Kelly, Kenneth (Kristen) Woodruff III, Jesse Woodruff, Nikki (Mike) Graham, Ronnie Martin, Keith (Sara) Hazzard, Angel Hazzard, and Kalvin Hazzard, seven great grandchildren,  one great-great granddaughter one sisters, Sharon Morris of Wellsville, two brothers, Cecil E. Jenison of Wellsville and Lyle E. Jenison of Gloucester, VA, as well as several several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in addition to her parents, by a sister, Thelma Mae Higday.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 12 noon to 2:00 pm in the J.W. Embser Funeral Home in Wellsville, the funeral to follow visitation at 2:00 pm in the funeral home. William A. Jordan

Rochester, NY - William A. Jordan, 27, of 131 Lynette Drive passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester due to complications from a six week battle with a heart infection. 

Will was born on November 12, 1992 in Johnson City, NY. He was a graduate of Johnson City High School and attended SUNY at Brockport. He was employed as a Regional Utility Manager for Crystal Clean, Inc. of Rochester, NY. 

He enjoyed traveling, and spending time with family and his many friends. He was a generous and thoughtful person who was always ready to take care of any friend in need. 

He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Jordan of Johnson City, two brothers, Jonathan Paxhia of Pavilion, and Anthony (Sarah) Paxhia of Macedon, an uncle, Jeffery Jordan of Belmont, two nephews, Jake and Vincent Paxhia, his partner, Gregory Toms of Rochester, and his best friend, Danielle D'Onofrio of Rochester.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc, 17 Schuyler Street in Belmont, NY. A celebration of Will's life will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019 beginning at 11 am at Signatures at The Humphrey House, 1785 Penfield Road, Penfield, NY.

Mary Ann Temple

Whitesville - Mary Ann Temple, 84, of 800 Kenyon Road, Whitesville, passed away on November 13, 2019 at the Highland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wellsville. She was born in Coudersport PA, on September 21, 1935 to the late Delbert and Alice (Perkins) Ellison.  On September 30, 1974, in Whitesville, she married Donald E. Temple who survives.

Mary Ann, formerly of Stannards, was a longtime resident of Whitesville. She graduated from the Whitesville Central High School.  She started her career at the First Trust Union Bank in 1963, retiring in 1993 as a loan officer.  She enjoyed the years traveling with her husband while he worked as a welding inspector and spending winters in Florida.

Surviving, in addition to her husband Donald are 2 sons: Bernhardt (Edie Jo)Seligman Jr, of Genesee PA and Bradley (Julie) Seligman of Monroe, NC; a daughter: Rhonda (Peter) Seligman-Salchow of Sarasota, Fl; one grandson: Aiden Seligman; 2 sisters: Nancy (Ed) Whitehead of Clermont, FL and Angela Dunbar of Genesee, PA; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased in addition to her parents by her first husband Bernhardt and 3 brothers: Russ, Bob, and Jim Ellison.

Friends will be received at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, 34 West State St., Wellsville on Saturday, November 16, 2019, from 12-2pm  A funeral service will follow at 2pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Whitesville Rural Cemetery. Andrea Mary Schoenthal

Wellsville, NY - Andrea Mary Schoenthal, 76, of 4192 A Bolivar Road passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 shortly after arrival at Jones Memorial Hospital. She was born October 18, 1943 in Buffalo, the daughter of the late John J. and Audrey (Fabian) Lozinsky. On September 3, 1966 in Buffalo she married Bruce R. Schoenthal who predeceased her on January 20, 2018.

Andrea was a graduate of Riverside High School in Buffalo, and received a B.S. from the University of Buffalo in Lab Technology. She is the founder of Creative Writers of the Southern Tier, a writers support group that lasted over 40 years. She was a published author of many fiction and non- fiction articles and short stories.

She was a long time member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville, a former member of the Wellsville Central School PTA, and the AAUW.

She is survived by a son, Philip A. Schoenthal, a daughter, Dawn M. Schoenthal, and a Son-in-law, Steven B. Foehner all of Poca, WV, and a sister, Johna Lozinsky of Buffalo. She was predeceased in addition to her parents and husband, by her sister, Rebecca “Becky” Tulipane.

Alice B. McEnroe,

Wellsville, NY - Alice B. McEnroe, age 89, of Wellsville passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Hart Comfort House surrounded by her family. She was born in Wellsville on September 20, 1930 to Christian and Katherine Schlenker Braunschweiger. On December 30, 1950 Alice married the love of her life Robert “Bob” McEnroe who were together for 68 years before he predeceased her on November 24, 2018.

Alice was a life long resident of the Wellsville area who dedicated her life to building a family. Being Valedictorian of her class she gave up college because she wanted to start a family. She also began a career in banking as a teller at the Citizens National Bank and retired from Key Bank as a Vice President. Alice was a long time member of the St. John's Episcopal Church, the St. Ann's Guild and the Red Hat Society of Wellsville. She enjoyed playing Bridge, reading, gardening, traveling and most of all staying in touch with her many friends including co workers from the bank. Her travels across the country took her to almost  all of the National Parks and she traveled through out Europe. Because Alice was a nurturer she gave back to the community by volunteering when ever possible. She spent hours volunteering at Jones Memorial Hospital, gave blood to the Red Cross until she was 82, spent seven months in Atlanta caring for her daughter Katie and traveled the country with Bob to attend her families special events.

Survivors include her 2 sons Robert “Rob” (Elsie)  McEnroe Jr. of Grants Pass, OR., and  David (Christine)  McEnroe of Corning; 2 daughters Barbara (Temo)  McEnroe of Long Beach CA., and Amy (Thomas)  Moore of West Islip; a son in law Gregory Hollod of Blue Ridge, GA.; 11 grandchildren, Jeff, Scott, Christopher, Andrew,Nikaylin, Alejandro, Robert, Thomas, Jackson, Michael and Allora; 5 great grandchildren, Fisher, Riverlyn, Maya, Chloe and Rivers; several nieces and nephews.

Alice was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her daughter Kathryn Hollod, and her brother, Christian (Patricia)  Braunschweiger.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, November 14, 2109 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville. Tonya A. Vancuren

Belmont, NY - Tonya A. Vancuren, age 39, of Belmont passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Jones Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was born on December 19, 1979 in Wellsville to Raymond and Concetta “Tina” Delvechio Vancuren.

Tonya was a long time resident of the Wellsville area who attended Wellsville Central Schools. She worked for Burger King, Pic a Flic and at the Wellsville Pizza Hut. Tonya loved children and enjoyed baby sitting them. She was a member of the Frank B. Church Post #2530 Auxiliary  and loved animals especially her dog Junior. She loved her family and always supported her twin sister Sonya in their many adventures. She was an amazingly strong and determined woman who over came many of life's obstacles and was able to experience true love with her soul mate Stan Hunt. She will be missed and remembered as a loving daughter, sister and friend who never judged.

Tonya is survived by her mother Concetta “Tina” Vancuren of Wellsville; five brothers, Robert (Cindy)  Vancuren of Wellsville, Lance Garfield of Wellsville, Steven (Shelly)  Vancuren of Kansas City, MO, Bruce (Barb)  Garfield of Wellsville, and John (Tracey)  Garfield of Clemmons, NC.; her soulmate Stan Hunt and his family Richard (Jennifer)  Hunt of Belfast and David (Sherri)  Hunt of Caneadea; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.

She was predeceased by father Raymond Vancuren and her twin sister Sonya A. Vancuren.
