He attended both Friendship and Massena Central Schools. He was employed by his father-in-law as a carpenter for many years. He also worked for Friendship Dairies, Blade’s Construction, and was self-employed as a carpenter and painter. He loved gardening, tractors, mowing, and fishing.
He is survived by: three daughters, Amber (Dennis) Stocum of Friendship, Michelle (Mike) Stocum of Corning, and Cammi (Robert) Granato of Auburn; a son, Ronny (Karina) Carlin of Friendship; twelve grandchildren, Jared, Shannon, Serena, Ashley, Michael, Quinn, Raychel, Kaiyia, Ronny Jr., Fred, Amanda, Kyle, and Kaleb; forty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a special-sister-in-law Geraldine “Cookie” Kirkey of Illinois; a brother, Dale (Jeannine) Carlin of Cuba; a special niece, Michele (Fernando) Garcia of Oceanside, CA; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved beagle, John.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by: a daughter, Kelly Sue Carlin; a brother, Larry Carlin; and a beloved nephew, Kurt Kirkey.

Sooo many memories, from cutting wood to butchering chickens .. spent a lot of our childhood hanging out there. He will be missed.
