Beverly Faye Middaugh

Belmont, NY - Beverly Faye Middaugh, 85, of 49 Willets Avenue passed away at home on Saturday, May 25, 2019, with her family at her side. She was born July 1, 1933 in Belmont, the daughter of the late Leo and Effie (Mayo) Graham. On February 6, 1953 in Belmont she married C. Richard “Dick” Middaugh who predeceased her on May 9, 1998.

Beverly was a lifelong resident of Belmont, and was a graduate of Belmont Central School. In the early years she was employed at W. T. Grant Co. and the Kaiser Glove Factory in Wellsville, and later kept the books for both her husband, Dick and son, Rick.

We were so lucky to have such a loving mother and grandmother. She was a great cook, an excellent housekeeper, had great organizational skills and beautiful penmanship. She enjoyed puzzles, Sudoku, going for walks, eating sweets, and going to to the casino with her son. She loved playing cards, and board games with her family, and was a Yankee fan. 

She is survived by a son, Rick (Katherine) Middaugh of Belmont, a sister, Bernice Robbins of Belmont, two grandsons, Nicholas Middaugh of Belmont, and Kyle (Jennifer) Middaugh of Lakeview, NY as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in addition to her parents and husband, by a daughter, Jacquelyn Val Middaugh.

Friends and family are invited to visit the family on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the family home, 49 Willets Avenue, in Belmont. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. Samuel Nevling

Belmont, NY - Samuel Nevling, 75, of 3804 State Route 244, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019, following a long illness. He was born April 11, 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the son of the late Joseph and Dolly (Hadden) Nevling. On July 18, 1981 in Angelica, he married Mary E. Farley who survives.

He was employed as a Deputy Sheriff for the Allegany County's Sheriff's Department for thirty-one years, retiring on November 13, 2006. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Timothy E. Nevling and Daniel L. Nevling both of Utah; three grandchildren, Angie, Daniel Jr., and Sydnee, five great grandchildren, Jacob, Evelyn, Luke, Brielle, and Gavin, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in addition to his parents by a brother Clayton Nevling, and a sister Patricia Landry.

Jacqueline L. “Jackie” Brundage

Belvidere- Jacqueline L. “Jackie” Brundage, age 60, of Trianna Road passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019, at  Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. She was born on January 10, 1959 in Coudersport to the late John and Agnes Henry Wilson. On July 3, 1992 in Andover she married John Brundage Jr. who survives.

Jackie was a stay at home mother who touched the lives of many of her “adopted” kids and loved her cats and dogs.

She is survived by her husband John; a son Brandon Brownell of Wellsville; a sister Erma (Mark)  Kopp of Austin, PA.; a brother, James Wilson of Mont Vernon, NH.; her mother and father in law, John and Elaine Brundage Sr. of Wellsville; a sister in law, Roxanne (Matt)  Wagoner of Wellsville; a brother in law Paul Brundage of Niagara Falls; several nieces and nephews; and special friends and neighbors, Joshua and Michelle Barnes.

Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on  Saturday,July 6, 2019 from 4 pm until 8 pm at the Frank B. Church VFW Post  #2530 on Maple Avenue in Wellsville. Shirley Joan (Patterson) Allen

Whitesville, NY  - Shirley Joan (Patterson)  Allen, a long time resident of Whitesville, chose to join the Lord on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Jones Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 8, 1935 in West Bingham, Pennsylvania to the late George “Edward” and Thelma (Skutt)  Patterson. On March 24, 1956 in Whitesville she married W. Duane Allen who survives.

Shirley was a member of the Genesee School class of 1953. In that same year she was selected by a popularity vote of her classmates at to attend the 12th annual Laurel Festival in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania to enter competition for the title of State Laurel Queen. In her early adulthood she worked for an ice cream parlor in Olean, Chapman and Burrows in Genesee, Pa., Sylvania in Galeton, Pa., and the glove factory in Wellsville. Shirley was well know for being a free hearted and giving person who enjoyed being around family and friends. She also enjoyed going to Salvation Army Stores, household sales, and rummage sales. Shirley will be remembered by her children as a tough but fair mother.

Surviving besides her husband are 3 children, Judy (Tommy)  Johanson of Wellsville, William “Bill” Allen of Whitesville, and Steven D. (Nancy Wyant)  of Jasper; 4 grandchildren which she doted on, Shawna Cwiklinski of Wellsville, Stanley “Josh” Cwiklinski of Whitesville, W. Daniel Allen of Whitesville, and Alyssa Allen of Canisteo; siblings, Norma (Donald)  Chapman of North Bingham, PA.,and Jack (Bessie)  Patterson of West Bingham, PA.. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; in laws, Ronald (Carol)  Allen of Wellsville, Phyllis (Bruce)  Green of Portville, and Sandra (James)  Fitzpatrick of Whitesville.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents, a granddaughter, and a great granddaughter.

Judith Ann Wakefield

Wellsville, NY - Judith Ann Wakefield, age 76, of South Main Street passed away at home on Thursday, May 2, 2019. She was born on January 22, 1943 in Wellsville to John "Jack" and Lila L. Quant McGinley. In Cuba she married Wesley Wakefield who predeceased her.
 
Judith graduated from Wellsville High School and the New Penn Beauty School in Olean with a degree in cosmetology. She worked for the Texas Hot, Basil Inferrera's Beauty Shop, and for Motorola in Arcade. Along with her husband Wesley "Red" they owned and operated the Cuba Lake Pavilion. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Wellsville and was currently a member of the Knights Creek Evangelical Methodist Church of Scio.
 
Survivors include a daughter Kelly Wakefield Wilber; four stepchildren, Steven [Doreen] Wakefield, Debbie [Curt] Hamilton, Randy Wakefield, and Kathy [Donald] Wakefield Sciotti; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Noel [Amy] Deuell Sr., June Deuell, Vincent Sciotti, Noel Deuell Jr.,Jody Hamilton, Jonathan Hamilton, Crystal Wakefield, Allen Wakefield, Kylee Wilber, Kelsey Wilber, Michael Wilber Jr., and Mitchell Wilber; two sisters, Kathleen [Jeff] Tingley, Pamela [Brent] Rohrabacher; two brothers, Richard [Laurie] Boyd, and Mark [Tracy] Boyd; Several nieces and nephews; A special long time friend and care giver, Joyce Burns.
 
She was predeceased by her parents and her step father, Mark M. Boyd.
 
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church of Wellsville from 10 am until 11 am. Her funeral service will take place at 11 am in the church with Reverend Greg DeSalvatore presiding. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery and memorials in her name may be given to the First United Methodist church of Wellsville, or to the Knights Creek Evangelical Church of Scio, or to the David A.
