Wellsville, NY - Sonya Ann Van Curen, 30, of 2088 County Road 18 died on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Rochester General Hospital following a long battle with a heart and lung condition. She was born on December 19, 1979 in Wellsville the daughter of Raymond and Concetta (Del Vechio) Van Curen.
Sonya was raised in Wellsville and attended Wellsville High School. She had an outgoing spirit and courageous determination; as she would often care for her twin sister and mother while suffering from own serious illness.
She is survived by her mother, Concetta "Tina" Van Curen of Wellsville, her twin sister, Tonya Ann Van Curen and her fiancé Stanley Hunt of Wellsville, five brothers, Robert Van Curen of Wellsville, Steven Van Curen of Oklahoma, Lance Garfield of Winston-Salem, NC, Bruce (Danyelle) Garfield of Belmont, John (Tracy) Garfield of Lewisville, NC, her long time companion, Chris Eldridge of Wellsville, an aunt, Cathy (Don) Adams of Cuba, and several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to call on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home with James Quant Jr. presiding. Memorial suggestions include the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps or the University of Rochester, Pulmonary Hyper Tension Program, 400 Red Creek Drive, Rochester, NY 14623.
