Betty was raised in Wellsville, and was a 1964, graduate of St. Mary’s School for the Deaf in Buffalo. While at St. Mary’s she worked in the kitchen. She was formerly employed as a sewing machine operator for Champion Products in Perry, NY, and later for Sylvania in Galeton, PA. Over the years she taught Sign Language for Allegany-Steuben Arc. She enjoyed making crafts, jigsaw puzzles, and Bingo
She is survived by three sisters, Connie (Terry) Briggs of Wellsville, Charlotte Roberts of Batavia, and Jennie (Richard) Matteson of Clover, SC, as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in addition to her parents by three brothers, Dale, Kevin and John Prince Jr., a sister, Darlene Mills, and two nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, 34 W. State Street in Wellsville. The funeral will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral Home with Daryl Ordiway presiding. The burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
