  6. I am saddened to hear of the passing of Donnie Wilson. Donnie and I shared many memories, and I still am finding it hard to believe that he has passed. I saw Donnie's potential when many others saw a challenge. Donnie was bright, intelligent, sophisticated, and a real charmer, and I believed in him even when he didn't believe in himself. I will always value all the memories I have gained from knowing him. Together we fought the good fight, and yes, together we accomplished much. I will never forget the trips to Albany, Washington D.C., and especially the trip we took to NYC after 9-11. Over the years Donnie and I didn't keep in touch, but I still valued all the time that we shared in the past. I will never forget the tricks he played to keep my spirit young, and my hopes of the future high. Like the time I came back from a trip and found that he and others decided to string toilet paper all over my office. The note on the desk, and I recognized the writing because only Donnie could print that good, read and I quote " This Toilet Paper Was Not Purchased With Union Dues". I will forever miss you my union brother, Brian Goodell

  7. I am so sorry for your loss, beloved family and friends. I met Donnie many years ago through my sister, who worked with him for many years and treasured a close friendship with him. I was taken by his sweet and charming manner. I got to know him a little better years later when my husband began working with him. He was so friendly and thoughtful, and we chatted many times. He was a great listener, and a real comforting hug was always available when needed, or even just a happy hug to show he was glad to see anyone he cared about. I am so sad to think about all the chats and hugs he can no longer give to those of us who truly cared about him. I will treasure my memories of him and his bright and sunny smiles. I'm sure there's a special place for him in Heaven, and I hope to see him again in the next life. Farewell, dear Donnie. You will be missed by a large number of people who were fortunate enough to know you. You left too soon and our sadness will be great, but our memories will keep you alive in our hearts and minds. Rest in peace, and I hope there is Rock and Roll in Heaven, as I know you and I shared a true passion for the best music of our lives and times! God bless!

    Sincerely,
    Barbara (and John) Caruso

  8. My sincerest sympathies to you on your loss. Donnie was a sweet and friendly man with a great smile and real compassion and charm. I met him through my sister many years ago when she worked with him at Cornell. They shared a long term friendship that I know she valued greatly. I was taken by his warmth and charm. I got to know him better years later when my husband worked with him (also at Cornell). We chatted often, and he was a great listener, as well as one who could give a comforting hug when needed, or just a big happy hug to show he was glad to see anyone he cared about. We shared a true passion for Rock and Roll, and I hope Heaven has plenty of good tunes for him to listen to while he waits for the rest of us to join him! I will miss him, but his memories will always keep his spirit alive for all who were lucky enough to know him. Rest in peace, Donnie. You will be missed by all who cared about you. God bless!
