Belmont, NY - Lucile M. Bliven, age 88, of State Route 244 passed away on Monday, October 8, at the Wellsville Manor Care Center. She was born in the Town of Ward on February 7, 1924 to Emitt and Gladys Ward Cline. On March 1, 1949 in Wellsville she married Paul Bliven who predeceased her on June 8, 1997.
Lucile was a long time resident of Belmont and graduated from Belmont High School. For a time she worked for the former Kayser Glove Factory in Wellsville and later baby sat for over 130 children at her home. She was fondly remembered by many of those children and last year was invited a high school graduation for one of the last she had babysat for. She had a great love of her family. She spent many hours with them picnicking out back of her home near the creek as well as cooking and baking for them and especially playing cards with her grandchildren.
Survivors include: 3 sons, Shawn (Lynn) Bliven of Franklinville, Dennis (Donna) Bliven of Belmont and Lintz (Karen) Bliven of Belmont; a daughter, Susan (Robert) Abbott of Troy, PA.; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother Oliver (Doris) Cline of Belmont; a sister Bethel (Lloyd) McKee of Salunga, PA.
She was predeceased by 3 brothers.
There will be no prior visitation and a private graveside service will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorials in Lucile's name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home. ReplyDeleteCile was the best...she had such a great influence on my children. I owe her the biggest "THANKS" for the wonderful children I have as she had as much, if not more, into raising them as I did. Love you Cile, you will always be in our hearts!
