Andover, NY - Robert John Campbell of Indian Creek Road passed away on Monday, September 5, 2011, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 4, 1954 in Wellsville to Delburt and Margaret (Ransom) Campbell Sr. On November 6, 1976 in Wellsville he married Sandra Green who survives.
Robert John attended Wellsville Central School and retired in August from Air Preheater as a millwright after 24 years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Sons of the American Legion and a former social member of the VFW all in Wellsville. Robert John was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt ,fish and ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed spending time at the Ponderosa and with his 2 dogs, Harley and Chelsea. Robert John will be remembered as a very loving family man.
Surviving besides his wife: 4 daughters, Alisa Campbell Swartz, Stacie Campbell, Stefanie (Ryan Preston) Campbell and Carrie Campbell all of Andover; 2 grandchildren, Gunner John Swartz and Raiyn Preston; a sister, Margaret (Milon) Ordiway of Wellsville; several nieces and nephews as well as several brothers and sisters in law.
He was predeceased by: his parents; 2 brothers, Delburt Campbell Jr. and Malcolm Campbell.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 am in the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery and memorials in his name may be made to either the Andover Volunteer Fire Department or the American Cancer Society.
