Wellsville, NY - Carl W. Link, 99, of 4381 Niles Hill Road died peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 12, 2009. He was born on February 3, 1910 in the Town of Allen the son of Albert and Minnie (Miller) Link.
Carl was a former longtime resident of the Old State Road in Angelica. He was employed from 1933 to 1937 as a teamster, cultivating vegetable crops for the Central Islip State Hospital on Long Island. He then returned to the family farm in Angelica, and began his career as a dairy farmer, until his retirement in the mid 1990’s. He was a member of the Dairylea Cooperative and with his brothers produced maple syrup for many years. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Basswood Hill and was a faithful servant of his church and his Lord.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Helen Link of Wellsville and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Henry, Walter and Harold Link and four sisters, Henrietta Link, Amelia Vossler, Katherine Dornow and Anna Vossler.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday, (May 16, 2009) from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Basswood Hill Road (County Road 15) in the Town of Allen. The funeral will follow visitation at 12 noon in the church with Rev. Larry Hoyt presiding. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery on Basswood Hill. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 472, Angelica, NY 14809, Home Care & Hospice, 118 N.
