Wellsville, NY - Leroy J. Lowrie of South Main Street passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010, at the Wellsville Manor Care Center. He was born on July 11, 1919 in Spring Mills New York to William and Mary Pepperman Lowrie. On November 7, 1942 in Little Genesee he married Gladys Raub who predeceased him on October 17, 2006.
Leroy was former resident of Oswayo, PA. He worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and then spent most of his working career in the oil fields including the Bohne Brothers, R.S. Potter and Son and then later for K-Arcy retiring in 1982.
Survivors include: a son Dale Lowrie of Wellsville; a sister Nina Biscara of Depew and a brother Frank Lowrie of Florida as well as several nieces and nephews.
Leroy was predeceased by his wife Gladys and a twin brother Leon Lowrie.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville from 12 noon to 2 pm at which time a funeral service will take place. Rev.
