Tony was raised in Belmont and was a 1983 graduate of Belmont High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted with the United States Army and served from 1983 to 1985. He attended Alfred State College’s Wellsville Campus. He found his career at Dresser-Rand Corporation as an electrician, where he was well liked by his fellow employees, retiring when the Wellsville plant closed. Outside of his employment, he was a member of the Belmont American Legion Herbert DeLong Post 808, was a charter member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 808 and was a former member of the Wellsville Moose Lodge 601. He loved to fish, bowl, play golf, garden, and adored his dogs. During his illness, Tony was lovingly cared for by his brothers, sisters, and life-long best friends Alan and Sherri Presutti.
He is survived by two sons, a grandson, Mortimer A. Grisewood III; three sisters, Mary Janet (David) Robbins of Katy, TX, Frances Young of Belmont, and Kathleen Grisewood of Belmont; two brothers, John (Rebecca) Grisewood of Olean and Daniel Grisewood of Olean; and several beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Kevin Young.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home of Belmont, 17 Schuyler Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 10 am in Holy Family Catholic Church, 5 Milton Street, Belmont, NY. ReplyDeleteMy deepest condolences to Tony’s family. I grew up with Tony. We shared many fun times from nursery school through graduation. Many social gatherings on the weekends and we went to our Junior Prom together. Rest in peace and power, my dear friend.
