ReplyDeleteMrs Sick was my favorite elementary school teacher! I remember learning about ancient civilizations in her social studies class in grade 6. She not only taught the content but fostered our curiosity. She made a difference in my life and I became a teacher myself for over 38 years!
ReplyDeleteMrs Sick was my favorite elementary school teacher. She instilled a curiosity to learn about history. So thankful to have had her at WCS.
ReplyDeleteOur deepest sympathy to all of Rita’s family and friends. She was a wonderful lady and a great teacher. I vividly remember one day during a heavy snowstorm, she flipped off the lights and allowed the class to watch the mesmerizing snow flakes. She understood kids!
ReplyDeleteMay God bless and comfort you!

Miss Adams became Mrs. Sick about the time I was in her 3rd grade class. I wanted to be a teacher like her. I enjoyed visiting with her at church when I came back to visit my parents. God's peace to the family.

ReplyDeleteMartin Street School - 3rd Grade - 1970.
ReplyDeleteMrs Sick brought in a woman who played different instruments for us to see/hear. I was instantly drawn to the violin.
Because of her, my journey led me to become Concertmaster for my college orchestra. I played for the Elmira Symphony, the Williamsport Symphony, the Rochester Symphony under the batons of some of our greatest conductors.
She’s the one who planted the love of music within me….a gift I can only pass on, but never repay.
Thank you Mrs. Sick
