ReplyDeleteI remember very well when Mr. Lombard first came to Wellsville to teach and coach. What a special person and motivator he was. A great influence on me and many others. My condolences and thoughts to Mrs. Lombard and family.
ReplyDeleteMy deepest condolences go out the Lombard family for your loss. I can't begin to explain the positive impact Bruce had on me as student, athlete and person. He was a great teacher, an excellent coach and a positive role model. I have always felt lucky to have had Bruce as a coach. I will think of him often and fondly.
ReplyDeleteMr. Lombard was a great teacher and always smiling. I learned so much from him. He will be truly missed. Sorry for your loss .
ReplyDeleteMy deepest condolences to Marley & family. Bruce was such as great teacher, mentor & just a class act. Such a positive impact on Wellsville that was not forgotten.
ReplyDeleteCoach Lombard took a chance on a 6’3” freshman with ? Basketball skills that got C’s in gym class and instilled in him a love for the game of basketball and sports in general. I enjoyed playing the game for many years and now continue that passion by coaching basketball and volleyball. Knowing that the true success is developing that passion in an athlete to pursue becoming the best that they can be.
ReplyDeleteI think of him often as I continue my coaching career, knowing that the success is fun, but how we deal with defeat is what makes better human beings and teaches us the best lessons. Thank you sir - you will always be remembered

Mrs. Lombard and Lori and Bruce…thank you so much for sharing Coach Lombard with so many of us in Wellsville. I have so many great memories of Coach and was forever shaped by his mentorship, as I know many of my teammates were also. He even introduced me to JMU…which shaped the rest of my life. Thoughts and prayers are with your family as you go forward. Thank you again for sharing him with us.

ReplyDeleteKim & I want to extend our deepest sympathy to Marley & family. Mr. Lombard took the “scare” out of geometry. He made it seem learnable. Coach Lombard taught me how to “punt” in footfall.. and use the backboard in basketball. Like all great coaches I wanted to be better for him! Bruce Lombard was a friend with a welcoming smile. RIP Coach! You will me missed greatly for your gentle personality and kind engaging manner.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to here of your loss. Mr. Lombard was such a great teacher and enjoyed him when I worked at Casey Optical.
ReplyDeleteI would not be where I am today if wasn't for Mr Lombard. He pushed me hard in math and I graduated. Without his help I don't think I would have made it. May he have peace! I am so sorry for your loss.
