Wellsville, NY - Richard L."Dick" Blouvet, Sr. age 82, a former resident of Scio passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Highland Park Health Care Center. He was born on April 16, 1934 in Wellsville to Howard L. and Lina M. Scott Blouvet. On May 18, 1954 in Scio he married Wilma Margeson who survives him.
Dick retired from the New York State Department of Transportation in 1989 as an equipment operator after 36 years of service. His hobbies included attending horse trading conventions, working stock car and go cart races at Drum Raceway, hunting at Allegany State Park, throwing horse shoes, camping and golfing with one golf club. Dick will be laid to rest in Knight Creek Cemetery with his best friend Paul Merry.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Wilma; 2 sons, Richard L. (Tina) Blouvet Jr. of Cuba; William L. (Kathleen) Blouvet of Scio; 3 daughters, Barbara M. (Jim) Fanton of Wellsville, Rebecca L. (Mike) Washer of Ellington and Roxanne L. Blouvet of Wellsville; 39 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Dick was predeceased by his 3 brothers, Cory, Howard J. and Harold Blouvet.
Friends are invited to call on Friday, April 29, in the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. His funeral service will take place on Saturday in the Funeral Home at 12 noon with Reverend Diane Cox presiding.
