Wellsville, NY - James L. "Chow" Allen of Eaton Court passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Jones Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 31, 1934 in Wellsville to Leon and Florence Crance Allen.
James graduated from Wellsville High School in 1954 where he played football, basketball and baseball. Soon after graduation he joined the US Navy and served until 1958. In 1959 he started working in California for Van Hewitt Printers where he worked for 33 years retuning to Wellsville in 1992 to retire. James enjoyed a daily visit to the Texas Hot. He enjoyed the food and especially the companionship of the staff that he considered his second family. James also enjoyed reading and watching sports.
He is survived by: a sister, Sina Hallett (Bob McCracken) of Wellsville; 5 nieces and 1 nephew including Lucinda Hall, Renee` Jackson and Terri Jackson all of Wellsville.
He was predeceased by: a brother, Robert; a sister, Joyce Geer and a great niece, Casey Renee`Jackson.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday October 6 at 2 pm in Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. Robert Morris presiding and full military honors to follow. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville.
