Olean, NY - Fred A. "Bo" Roberts of 1620 Avenue A passed away at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo on Wednesday June 2, 2010. He was born on September 17, 1926 in Whitesville to Fred A. and Bessie Graves Roberts. Fred was married to Marion McCarty who predeceased him.
Fred served in the US Army during WWII and retired from the former Clark Brothers in Olean after 28 years of service. He was a member of the VFW in Cuba, the American Legion in Allegany and liked to hunt and camp.
Survivors include: 2 sons, Fred A. Roberts Jr. of Wellsville, Donald White of Portville and a step son Frank (Dawn) White of Scio; 3 daughters, Patricia Roberts of Titusville, FL., Nancy (Bill) Bostley of Wellsville and Kay (Bob) Babbitt of Wellsville; 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Fred was predeceased by a brother Lon Roberts; 4 sisters, Arvilla Knapp, Violet Knapp, Phyllis Hess and Edra Ellis.
Friends may call on Saturday June 5 from 12 noon to 2 pm in the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville with the funeral service at 2 pm in the funeral home. Rev. Richard Helms will preside and burial with full military honors will be in Stannards Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Southern Tier Youth for Christ or to the charity of the donor's choice.
