Wellsville, NY - Ruth Marie Taylor of 100 Merriam Heights passed away on Saturday January 9, 2010 at the Jones Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 20, 1920 in Bolivar to Fred and Irene Hartman Dannheim. On September 28, 1937 in Wellsville she married Gilbert Taylor Jr. who predeceased her on June 30, 1997.
Ruth was raised in Allentown and graduated from Allentown Union Free School in 1937. During WWII she worked in the munitions plant in Eldred, PA and later became the bookkeeper for Taylor Pipeline. With her husband she had lived in Andover, Addison and San Angelo, TX. moving to Wellsville in 1980. Ruth was a member of the Brookside Wesleyan Church in Wellsville. She was the first resident of Merriam Heights and valued the friendships over the passed 12 years. Ruth was a warm hearted homemaker, mother and grandmother who prided her family.
Survivors include: a son, Ronald (Gloria) Taylor of Wellsville; two daughters Cindy Griffin of Houston, TX., and Connie (David) Williams of Collins; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews and 2 cousins.
She was predeceased by 2 brothers, William and Ronald Dannheim.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday January 12, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the J.W. Embser Sons F.H. in Wellsville. Her Funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11 am in the funeral home with Rev. Robin George presiding. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery and memorials may be made to the Brookside Wesleyan Church.
