Scio, NY - Mary Jeanne Voelz of the Mater Dei passed away Nov. 23, 2009 at Jones Memorial Hospital. She was born November 20 1921 in Walkegan IL. to Arnold and Naomi (Vicksell) Nolan. On November 14, 1942 she married Vernon Voelz who predeceased her.
Mary grew up in Kenosha WI. Moving to Sarasota and later moved to Gainesville Fl.; to be with her two daughters; Kim and Nancy. She most recently moved to Phillips Creek where she lived with her daughter Jae.

Mary attended Parsons School of Design in NYC and worked as an illustrator for paper doll books retiring as a commercial artist.
Mary was a very social person staying abreast of international culture and news, enjoyed the fine arts, reading National Geographic, loving everything about Florida especially the beaches where she swam and snorkeled. Always enjoying fine arts including Art Show openings and was also a member of Baha'i Faith.
Survivors include: three daughters Kim (Gary) Hankins of Gainesville Fl. Jae (Naysim) Simon of Phillips Creek and Nancy (Eldon) Philman also of Gainesville Fl. Five Grandchildren three great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Lauretta Voelz of Kenosha WI. And several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother Robert Nolan.
There will be no prior visitation; friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service at 12 noon on Friday November 27th in the JW Embser Funeral Home 34 W State St. Wellsville, NY 14895.
Burial will take place in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Scio; memorials may be made to Amity Rescue Squad.
