Wellsville - Dorothy B. Johnson of the Bolivar Road passed away on Friday May 15, 2009 in the Wellsville Manor Nursing Home. She was born at home in Plainfield, New Jersey on January 20, 1921 to Elmer and Beatrice Bodine Borman. On July 27, 1946 in Plainfield she married Sherwood Wesley Johnson who predeceased her on April 21, 1979.
Dorothy was a long time resident of the Plainfield New Jersey area that moved to Wellsville in 2006. She worked for Bell Telephone for many years and very proud that she worked there during WWII. Dorothy enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening and swimming at the New Jersey Shore. She was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Plainfield New Jersey.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mary [Robin] Rhodes of Wellsville; a son Wesley [Rosemary] Johnson of Crestview, FL.; five granddaughters; four great grandchildren and two nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by a daughter Linda Smith and a sister Marian Anderson.
There will no services and her burial will take place in Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ. Any memorials in Dorothy’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
