Belmont, NY - John J. Biancuzzo, 70, of 8 Trianna Street died on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Rochester General Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 21, 1938 in Belmont, the only son of the late Carlo and Violet (Lewis) Biancuzzo. On June 4, 1960 he married Andrea Stephens who predeceased him on July 17, 1976. On September 9, 1989 he married Deborah Lowe who survives.
John was employed by the Rochester Button Company in Wellsville for many years and later was a rural mail carrier in Belmont. He formerly served as Justice of the Peace for the village of Belmont and was a member of the former St. Mary’s Parish in Belmont. He was a life member and past fire chief for the Belmont Volunteer Fire Department, where he also held many line officer positions.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Stephen (Lynn) Biancuzzo of Belmont, Catherine (K. J.) Spinks of Belmont, Daniel Biancuzzo of Charleston, SC and Andrew (Adriane) Biancuzzo of Portville, four sisters, Roseanna Tait, Theresa, Josephine and Felecia Biancuzzo all of Belmont, four brother-in-laws Andrew Stephens and Gary Stephens and Steve Lowe all of Belmont and David Lowe of Boston, MA. The joys of his life were his grandchildren, Toby and Josh Spinks, Andrea, Alyssa and Vinny Biancuzzo. He also loved his bird “Whisper” and his dog “Little Bit”.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Belmont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 5th at 11:00 am in the Holy Family Church in Belmont with Rev. Paul Schnacky as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Belmont. Memorial suggestions include the Amity Rescue Squad or the Belmont Volunteer Fire Department.
