I have such fond memories of being in her class. She taught us to sing "Silent Night" in German (which I still remember). I recall her giving us M&M's for every time we would write our spelling words and working hard to get 100% on my spelling tests. She was such a great lady! I adored her. I also remember running back to school to tell her that President Ronald Regan had been shot. I will never forget the look of devastation on her face. She was such a caring person. Mrs. Patterson will forever be in my heart. She is great example of what a teacher should be and what an impact a good teacher can have on students. My thoughts are with her family at this time.
Love,
Christina Whitney MaynardAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1004849103283449688.post-18370925514295230532011-03-31T20:05:44.994-04:002011-03-31T20:05:44.994-04:00Mrs. Patterson was a wonderful woman; patient, ki...Mrs. Patterson was a wonderful woman; patient, kind, and an outstanding and favorite teacher. She calmly captured and kept the attention of her young students. Her warm, caring personality immediately made those around her feel at home. She had style and grace and will be greatly missed. She was such a wonderful person! She also was a neighbor to my Grandmother. I have many fond memories of both Mr. and Mrs. Patterson. I remember admiring their beautiful garden as a child. There was never a more caring and compassionate teacher than her and I have many fond memories to this day of Mrs. Pattersons second grade. One in particular I will never forget was how we would bring "albums" to listen to at recess and we would dance to them. Memories just don't get any better than Mrs. Patterson rocking out to REO Speedwagon and Devo.
My sincere condolences to the family. She was a precious woman.

Dawn (Osterhout) DavisAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
