Louise M. Thomas

Wellsville, NY - Louise M. Thomas, 56, of 277 Scott Avenue, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016 at Jones Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. She was born August 18, 1959 in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Wayne and Dorothy (Budde) Thomas.

Louise was raised in Scio and was a 1977 graduate of Scio High School. She was employed as a secretary for the U. S. Army Recruiting office in Wellsville and for the Allegany County Department of Social Services. She later worked as a bartender at Jolly Dee’s and for P. J’s Pub in Wellsville. For a brief time after graduation, she worked as a model and was on the cover of Teen Magazine. She was a member of the Brookside Wesleyan Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother; who will be remembered as “Nana” to grandchildren and enjoyed volunteering and bringing baked goods to her friends at the nursing homes.  

She is survived by three children, Jennifer (Joel) Bullock of Concord, NC, Nicholas Carl of Wellsville and Hayley Messinger of Houghton, six grandchildren, Avery and Colbie Bullock, Dakota Carl, and Jamie, Gavin and Luke Szalay, a sister, Sheila Thomas, and a brother, Lyle Thomas.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville, and again on Friday, February 19th from 12 noon to 1:00 pm at the Brookside Wesleyan Church, Route 417 East in Wellsville. The funeral will follow at 1:00 pm in church with Rev. Robin George presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Scio. The family suggests memorial donations be made, in lieu of flowers, to the SPCA Serving Allegany County. To leave online condolences, please visit www.embserfuneralhome.com.

My tears won't stop..weeze...how can I sit in church and not see you there.you always wore the most beautiful dresses and skirts and carried yourself with such confidence,and the hugs you gave...I will miss you my friend.
