Esther Elizabeth Vossler Childs

Wellsville, NY - Esther Elizabeth Vossler Childs, age 82, of Fairview Avenue passed away on Saturday January 30, 2016 at the Wellsville Manor Care Center. She was born on January 14, 1934 in Wellsville to Martin and Sharley Hand Vossler.

Esther was a lifelong resident of this area who graduated from Scio Central High School She later graduated from Alfred State College’s Medical Stenographer program. She had worked for Jones Memorial Hospital, Olean General Hospital, Andover Medical Group and retired in 1999 from the Highland Health Care Center. Esther was a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church who enjoyed cooking, traveling and reading.

Esther is survived by 2 children, a son Jeffery (Beverly) Childs of The Woodlands, TX. And a daughter Valerie Willison of Hatboro, PA.; 5 grandchildren Nathan and Lindsey Childs, Connor, Cameron and Collin Willison; several cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Charles Vossler as well as her sister Sharley Johnson.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 3:30 pm at the Knights Creek Cemetery in Scio. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Trinity Lutheran Church of Wellsville. To leave on line condolences please visit www.embserfuneralhome.com.

  2. My condolences go out to Valerie and Jeffery's families. I just found it out today. Esther used to stay with me when she went to the singles group on Saturday nights in Corning years ago. We had some great times.

  3. We miss Esther. We had been out of touch and were sorry that there was no memorial service in town She was a woman of God and now has rest from health issues and other trials. She is in wonder and awe at all God has for her in His great heaven.
