Theodore F. "Ted" Phillips

Belmont, NY - Theodore F. "Ted" Phillips, age 71, of State Route 19 passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville. He was born on April 15, 1942 in Coudersport, Pennsylvania to Homer and Lucy Woodruff Phillips. On September 24, 1988 in Belmont he married Lana Bortle who survives.   

Ted work for many years as a vehicle body and fender repairman. He worked at several area garages including Pfuntners in Wellsville and for a time, in Franklinville, he owned and operated his own shop. Ted enjoyed playing the guitar and was a member of a country and western band. He also enjoyed mowing his lawn. Ted was a member of the Wellsville Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Tedi (Dave) Zielinski of Sinclairville; 3 grandchildren, Desiree, Hope and Zackary Zielinski; 2 stepsons, Denny (Maureen) Burdick of Penfield and Tim Burdick of Norfolk, VA.; a step daughter, Michelle Burdick of Belmont; two brothers, Dick (Gennie) Phillips of Tennessee and Harold Phillips of Port Allegany, PA.; a sister, Virginia (Gary) Augie of Franklinville; his mother in law, Mabel Partridge of Addison; several nieces and nephews.

Ted was predeceased by 5 brothers and sisters.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday, December 22, from 1 to 2 pm at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, 34 West State Street, Wellsville New York. A funeral service with Elder Bart Landon presiding will take place at 2 pm at the conclusion of the calling hour. Memorials may be given the charity of the donor's choice.
