Donald E. Lehman


Wellsville, NY - Donald E. Lehman, 74, of 2507 Ketchner Road passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2012 at the Wellsville Manor Care Center with his family at his side. He was born July 16, 1938 in Wellsville the son of William C. and Lena (Strong) Lehman. 

He was a former employee of C. E. Air Preheater Company, Otis Eastern Corporation, L. C. Whitford Company and beginning March 9, 1964, he was with Dresser-Rand Corporation in Wellsville, until his retirement on August 1, 2000. He attended Wellsville High School and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was also a life member and past captain of the Dyke Street Engine Company # 2. He enjoyed collecting flags and he loved his home. Donny's friendly and outgoing personality will be missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by two brothers, Robert J. (Winifred) Lehman of Wellsville and Edward B. Lehman of Belmont, two sisters-in-law, Doris Ann Lehman of Belmont and Arlene Lehman of Wellsville, as well as several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Nancy L. Kiefer in 2001 and two brothers, Terry L. Lehman and William R. Lehman both in 2009.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Monday from 10:00 to 10:30 am at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville with Rev. Thomas Roman as Celebrant. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donation be made to the Immaculate Conception Church or the Dyke Street Engine Company.   2. Donny was the very definition of a "nice guy." I will miss running into him around town and catching up. But I know I'll see him again and we will have a lot to catch up on then.
